Criminal Minds: A Creepy Touch of Tim Curry to End the Season

The Criminal Minds cast is on their summer break, but the good news is they’ll be back this fall since the show has once again been renewed by CBS.

In the meantime, they left us with what looks like a very cool season finale starring Tim Curry, of Rocky Horror Picture Show fame.

Tim Curry in the 1970s, oh my...

You might think he looks pretty creepy as scientist Frank ‘n Furter in Rocky Horror, but as an unsub in Criminal Minds, well, shall we redefine creepy?

Don't even think of cutting this guy off in traffic

Our Darkest Hour features a city-wide blackout in Los Angeles and a serial killer on a murder spree, which our favorite crime fighting team may or may not stop before the cliffhanger ends.

If you’ve been following the cast on Twitter, they were talking about this episode as they were filming it a few weeks ago. This post has some of the conversation:

An Evening Twitterfest With Criminal Minds

Joe Mantegna also posted a couple pictures on Twitter of Curry when he was hanging out with the cast for the show.

Tim Curry isn't quite so scary at this meet and greet

And Mantegna added a pic of this cast birthday party for Shemar Moore, which I just had to pass on. Each of the cupcakes, Mantegna said, had a little picture of Moore on it.

Shemar Moore flavored cupcakes... Yum...

As for the upcoming episode, let’s hope our team keeps Los Angeles safe from harm with no serious injuries to themselves.

  4. This episode makes me physically sick and I work at a television station that airs it regularly. In fact, its on right now on my station. Thankfully we carry a children’s channel and adult educational life channel and I can assure of proper operation by watching those channels during the last 10 minutes of this episode. The other time I have to watch something else is when Hotchner’s wife is murdered. I can pretty much watch my own television station’s feeds the rest of the time.

  5. I have seen this episode with Tim Curry and it is my favorite. Tim Curry does a fantastic job potraying this serial killer who I end up crying for because of what the killer had been through as a child. I. Also loved the music, which to me was hauntingly beautiful. I was hoping you could tell me how I could find all of the music that was in this episode with Tim Curry.

  6. Tim Curry is the consumate actor. I have adored him since the early 1970s. To see him this way, in these episodes just about killed me. I couldn’t watch the whole show. I watched most of it through my fingers covering my eyes. Thank goodness I can see Mr. Curry in other roles and let this one slip away. When Mark Harmon played Ted Bundy, he did it so well, I couldn’t see his face for many years following without thinking he WAS Ted Bundy. Thank goodness for NCIS.
